Pool II Facility Renovations - 2013 Print E-mail

The Pool II facility will open the 2013 swim season in May, with a fresh look following necessary renovations. Each activity addresses specific issues, and the overall strategy is to provide residents with low maintenance, long term solutions. These include:

• Pool II’s new plaster and tiles. This renovation is less intensive than last year at Pool I, but as necessary to address sanitation and maintenance issues and improve resident’s overall satisfaction of the facility.

• Replacing the aged wood deck with one made of composite materials. These materials eliminate annual maintenance, are not susceptible to insect damage and are friendly to swimmer’s bare feet. This replacement also provides the opportunity to optimize the deck layout, and increase seating for event viewing and general recreation.

Additionally, both the Pool I and Pool II facilities will feature liquid chlorination systems. These provide faster and more measured responses to sanitation demands caused by fluctuations in swimmer load and environmental issues.

Early registration will be held on Saturday, March 2nd from 12 to 2pm at the Prestonwood Forest Clubhouse.
The early registration discount is ONLY available on this date.
Prestonwood Forest residents are reminded that they MUST be in good standing with and have paid their Prestonwood Forest Maintenance Association assessments in order to register and swim on the Flyers team.

2012 BLOCK CAPTAIN MEETING Print E-mail

Inviting All Area and Block Captains

A meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 7:00pm in the Prestonwood Forest Clubhouse. Please mark your calendars. We encourage every block captain to attend this meeting as we will be discussing the collection of information for the new 2013-14 directories. Lori Zech has generously volunteered her time to again spearhead this massive task of gathering, editing and coordinating our information with Champions Printing for a final directory release.

If you are an area/block captain unable to attend or unable to send your designated representative, please contact myself or Bonnie O’Neill, co-block captain coordinators, so we may convey pertinent information to you following the meeting.

Kudos to our block captains who are often the first person to welcome new Prestonwood residents to their block. They answer questions new residents may have about neighborhood activities as well as directing them to the prestonwoodforestonline.com website. Their duties also include delivering the Prestonwood Press and the Prestonwood directories along with sharing pertinent security and emergency information, as necessary. Consider this opportunity to serve your community when solicited in the future.

If you are a resident not currently receiving the monthly Prestonwood Press dispersed by a block captain, do not know who your block captain is or have any questions, please call either one of us.

Thank you to all block captains for being the link of communication that connects our diverse neighborhood and enriches our community. Your volunteer spirit is truly appreciated.

Mark your calendars for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 4th, that's when the fun begins at the corner of Ravenhurst and Prestonwood Forest Drive. We'll begin lining up at 9:40 a.m. so be sure to bring out your bicycles, tricycles, strollers, motorized vehicles, and anything else you can decorate up for this fun morning! All entries are welcomed and encouraged, judging will take place in the Hancock parking lot immediately following the parade!

Did You Know? Precinct 4 has a Community Assistance Department!

Harris County Precinct 4 has a Community Assistance Department (CAD) which provides constituents with a “one stop, one phone number, one e-mail address” service to report road and bridge maintenance issues in Harris County and for questions or comments about Precinct 4 services.

The Community Assistance Department also maintains current records and information on many services and agencies within Harris County and Precinct 4.

Methods for contacting the Precinct 4 Community Assistance Department include:
