Volunteers Needed to Lead the 2016 Prestonwood Flyers Swim Team Print

Prestonwood Forest resident volunteers are urgently needed, this summer, in order to form a Prestonwood Flyers Swim Team for the 2016 Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL) swim season. Please attend the Flyers Volunteers Meeting on Tuesday, June 9 – 7:00 p.m. at the Prestonwood Forest Clubhouse.

The Prestonwood Flyers were one of the oldest teams in the NWAL area 41 years. However the team has been dormant for the past 2 years due to adult leadership vacancies. Please consider volunteering, in one of the many open positions, to revitalize the team and help our neighborhood children enjoy the healthy exercise and comradery of friendly swim team competition.

What and When

Four (4) resident volunteers are needed immediately to form a Prestonwood Flyers Board, comprised of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The new Flyers Board must file an application with Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL) by August 1, 2015 to be eligible to participate in the 2016 season.

In addition to the Flyers Board positions, resident volunteers have an opportunity to assist with other many other positions, including team representative, timing and rules officials, and computer staff. The Flyers Board interviews and hires a coach through the Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL)

The Prestonwood Forest communityremains grateful for the tireless efforts and contributions of the previous Prestonwood Flyers Board members and resident volunteers. It would be unfair to ask more of them, but they have generously offered to assist with support and knowledge transfer to the new leadership. in addition, Northwest Aquatic League offers training and orientation.

Whether or not your children are grown, this is a great opportunity to use those management skills you developed during your career. A lot of Prestonwood Forest children are depending on you.

Who to Contact

The Prestonwood Forest Maintenance Association has agreed to act as an intermediary to assist with recruiting resident leadership. However, once formed, the Prestonwood Flyers organization will continue to be independent and self-sustaining.

If you have questions or are interested in volunteering, please contact any Maintenance Association Board Member through the ‘Contact Us’ feature on this website.
