Well, the
2010 Nite of Lites celebration has come and gone. What a huge success it was this year. Thank you to all of the residents that participated. We were elated to see that participation was higher this year. We were excited to see that some residents even stepped up their decorating

There were so many wonderful displays this year and if we have missed listing some, it was not intentional and we offer our apologies, but we encourage all of you to tour the neighborhood to see the wonderful creations that our neighbors have worked hard to put up.
Of course, the Nite of Lites event would not be possible without judges. This year, we were very fortunate to gather a group of wonderful “outside” volunteers that spent their Saturday night riding around our neighborhood. They were:
Kristin Balloon, Mary Kay Cosmetics
Paul Cavicchi, GDF SUEZ Energy North America & wife Melody
Hank Hadley, Black-Eyed Pea Restaurant
Beth Henley, WWT International, Inc.
Brenda Pennington, Pennington Commercial Real Estate & daughter Allison
Alan and Linda Taylor, Owners of Studio 58 Day Spa
Dr. Matthew Taylor, Prestonwood Animal Clinic & wife Michelle
THANK YOU!! Judges for the awesome job! We couldn’t have done it without you!
And we certainly couldn’t have done it without the drivers! Thank you to Karen and Erica Seals for driving the judges around the neighborhood.
A really special “
THANK YOU” and “
FANTASTIC JOB” go to the residents of 8200 Middlebury, 2009 Best Block winners, for hosting the judge’s dinner. The food, desserts and ambiance were incredible! Thank you to the Craigs for letting us invade their home for the evening. If there were a Host & Hostess Award, they would definitely receive it!
This year’s Nite of Lites winners received some very nice and generous awards. We need to say “
Thank you very much!” to all of our
2010 Nite of Lites Sponsors listed here. Please frequent these establishments and be sure to tell their owners/managers that their generosity is truly appreciated.
A special “
Thank You” to Guinnette Peebles of Prestonwood Kennels Pet Resort for recreating those awesome poodles that were stolen last year and for lighting up again. Your light display this year is truly awesome and your big wrapped tree is ah-inspiring!
We’d like to take this opportunity to notify you of a change for the 2011 Nite of Lites celebration that will take place on Saturday, December 10th.
**** A new category, Best Cul de Sac, will be created. This category will be judged by the actual decorations and light displays in the circle at the end of the street. This category will be completely separate of Best Block.
Thank you again to all the participants in this year’s Nite of Lites celebration and congratulations to the 2010 winners. We sensed a greater camaraderie in the neighborhood this year and hope that it carries over to next year. If you have any suggestions, ideas, compliments or complaints, please send them to
